Obituary of Jerry Palmer

Jerry B. Palmer, 71, of Hoschton, GA, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 after a brief illness. Jerry was born on May 25, 1949 in Edison, GA to Melba Champion Palmer and Bennie Cyrus Palmer. Jerry served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 as well as fought in the Vietnam War. He retired as a robotic technician from General Motors in Doraville, Georgia. On July 25, 1970, he married Linda Carol Cox. They raised three daughters, Leslie Weaver, Jennifer Palmer, and Jeri Lynne McClelland. 

Jerry worked hard to provide for his family and at one time in his life worked 3 jobs to make sure his family’s needs were met. He loved to hunt. He loved riding his motorcycle. He always made sure to spend quality time with his daughters when they were growing up as well as his grandchildren. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his Wife Linda Carol Palmer, Father Bennie Cyrus Palmer, Mother Melba Champion Palmer, and Brother Robert Palmer.  Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Leslie, Jennifer, and Jeri Lynne, his sons-in-law Ron Weaver and David McClelland. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Jordyn, Deborah, Makayla, Amber, Josiah, Natalie, and Jeremy. His brother Claud Palmer, sister Irene Hawkins, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

A viewing will be held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel in Buford, Georgia on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 1 PM, and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Dr. Frank Cox will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens.
